A presentation to the Interfaith Community of Schenectady

The Interfaith Community of Schenectady welcomes you to a presentation by senior members of Kingfisher Sangha. Our speakers will provide a history of Thich Nhat Hanh, Kingfisher Sangha, its perspective, and its practice in the world and in the Capital Region. The talk is free; donations are welcome.Brett Bartow, a Pearson Education editor for 30+ years, has been practicing meditation in the Tiep Hien Order (Order of Interbeing) tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh since 2009 and was ordained as a member of the Order of Interbeing in June 2021. Brett is an active member of Kingfisher Sangha in the Albany/Saratoga Springs area, where he helps facilitate weekly sits and days of mindfulness and supports the many activities of the sangha. He published a book of poetry, Chasing Thunder, in 2011. Tamara Geveci has been practicing mindfulness and meditation for over 25 years. She became involved with Kingfisher Sangha in 2007 and was ordained into the Order of Interbeing in 2013 with Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh, who gave her the Dharma name True Precious Energy. Tamara works as a librarian assistant in the Niskayuna Schools and is the mother of 13 year old twins. Tamara is also a practicing Unitarian Universalist and is an active member of the UU Society of Schenectady.
