SUMMARY:Kingfisher Sangha Book Club
DESCRIPTION:Kingfisher Sangha Book Group\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWednesday\, March 18\nat 6 pm via Zoom \nThe Sangha Book Group is open to sangha members who enjoy reading and discussing books together.  We get to know each other as we learn from each other’s perspectives as well as growing in our own practices.  We choose what to read based upon the suggestions we receive. Most of our choices come from works by Thich Nhat Hanh and others in the Plum Village tradition\, though on occasion we read other Buddhist writers. The variety is fun. \nOur choice for winter reading is Richard Brady’s “Short Journey Home.” \nRichard Brady offers a deeply personal account of his mindfulness practice journey\, inspired by Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh\, providing unique insights and practical wisdom for lay practitioners. Richard is a marvelous storyteller and his stories\, though personal\, have universal meanings and messages. Kingfisher sangha has had a long relationship with Richard\, who has mentored\, and currently mentors\, some of our aspirants to the Order of Interbeing. He has offered numerous Days of Mindfulness as well. \nFor our next meeting on March 18\, we will cover through chapter 8 of the book. The book Short Journey Home can be obtained through Parallax Press (www.parallax.org)\, a non-profit publishing house co-founded by Thich Nhat Hanh and Arnold Kotler. They publish books and media based on the art of mindful living and Engaged Buddhism The book may also be obtained through your local bookstore and other online book publishers. The sangha has scholarship funds that can help with the costs of the book. Please contact Starr if you wish to learn more about the scholarship funds. \nPlease join us on Wednesday\, March 18 at 6pm on zoom. Contact Linda for the Zoom link. Any questions\, contact Linda (revlin23@gmail.com)

Please contact Starr for information. \nFor more information and questions\, please contact Linda at revlin23@gmail.com.

SUMMARY:Kingfisher Book Club: Reconciliation (In-Person)
DESCRIPTION:Kingfisher Sangha Book Club\nApril 20 (In-Person) | April 17 (Online)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKingfisher Book Group Continues in April!\nIn-Person on April 20; Via Zoom on April 17 \nCome read a book together! All are invited to the Kingfisher Book Group. We have two branches of the group. \nOne meets on Zoom on the third Wednesday of the month\, at 10am. That is April 17th. \nThe other branch meets in person at the home of Sherrie L at 1:30pm on the third Saturdays of the month. Thich Nhat Hanh offers unique insights on how mindfulness practice can encourage wellness and balanced mental health\, and help heal childhood suffering and trauma. With personal stories\, techniques for dealing with old and new situations\, and advice for building strong and long-lasting relationships\, Reconciliation is full of concrete practices for healing the inner child. Nhat Hanh shows how mindfulness can transform anger\, sadness\, and fear and allow joy and tranquility to flourish. \nThe book is 184 pages long\,  We’ll read this book slowly in order to absorb its messages and perhaps for some of us\, deal with our own inner child. So for the  meeting in April\, we would read through chapter 6\, Healing the Inner Child. \nThe sangha has funds to help you purchase the book if you need them. SUMMARY:Kingfisher Book Club: Reconciliation (Online)
That is April 20th. \nPeople are invited to attend one or both of the April gatherings.  If you plan to attend the in person version\, please let Sherrie know and she can give you information about her address\, etc. Her e-mail is lyonssherrie3@gmail.com \nWe will read Reconciliation: Healing the Inner Child by Thich Nhat Hanh. \n“A simple but penetrating perspective on transforming our childhood pain and confusion into strength and clarity.” (Thomas Moore\, Care of the Soul.) Thich Nhat Hanh offers unique insights on how mindfulness practice can encourage wellness and balanced mental health\, and help heal childhood suffering and trauma. Please contact Starr for information.  \nFor more information and questions\, please contact Linda at revlin23@gmail.com.  Also\, if you need information about the in person meeting location\, contact Linda.
