Kingfisher Sangha is pleased to offer many options for giving back to our local and Plum Village communities this year. The sangha plans to give from sangha funds (details below), and there are opportunities for individual giving as well. Giving is never required but is always welcome if you are able to do so.
1. Collection for the Monastics at Blue Cliff Monastery. Kingfisher Sangha has made the decision to contribute $400 for the monastics at Blue Cliff on behalf of our sangha as a whole. In addition, we will be collecting hats, gloves, socks, and scarves (winter-related items) for the 42 monastics in residence at Blue Cliff. We ask that these items be brown or black in color. If you also wanted to include small gifts like candy, toiletries, and other gifts to bring them cheer, that would be great. You can buy these ahead of time and have them shipped to Dorothy’s house OR you can bring them to our stocking stuffer event on December 14. See the full event notice for more detail.
2. The Nunnery Project at Blue Cliff Monastery. Kingfisher Sangha has made the decision to donate $500 towards the ongoing need for a new nunnery building on the Blue Cliff Monastery campus.
3. The Schenectady City Mission. The City Mission offers numerous programs to help the needs of the poor and under-resourced in the Schenectady area. Their programs run the gamut from providing shelter, serving food, providing employment, offering recovery programs, offers of clothing, and individual outreach. Kingfisher Sangha will contribute $400 towards the Schenectady City Mission this year.
4. Ocean State Job Lot. All donations to this program are matched dollar for dollar and provide food to the Northeastern New York Regional Food Bank in Latham to relieve hunger in the Capital Region.

- You can Paypal money to Kingfishersanghany@gmail.com. Again, please indicate CLEARLY which program you want the money to go towards.
- You can make a check payable to Kingfisher Sangha and send to Dorothy Vieira. Email Dorothy for details, such as her address. dorovie@aol.com. Please indicate CLEARLY which program you are contributing towards.
- You are of course welcome to contribute directly to any of the organizations listed above. At any Ocean State Job Lot store, you can donate using your check or credit card.
