Kingfisher Sangha Fundraising Picnic

July 10, 11 am  | Saratoga Spa State Park, Ferndell Pavilion

It’s time to celebrate the Sangha’s Second Annual Fundraiser/Potluck Picnic!!  Last year’s event was a huge success and we’re anticipating a repeat performance!

Prior to Covid the Sangha collected dana year-round at its in-person sits.  Because nearly all of the in-person sits were cancelled during Covid, the Sangha decided a year ago to establish an Annual General Fund Drive and pair it with a potluck picnic or other fun event.  The Sangha’s General Fund supports:  various operating expenses such as printing, copying, postage, the Sangha brochure, Day of Mindfulness expenses, The Mindfulness Bell, donations in support of monasteries and other spiritual centers, scholarships for brothers and sisters to attend retreats and other events; other expenses as approved by the Care-Taking Council/Community Meeting. The Sangha’s ability to hold separate fundraising events (book/yard sales, etc.) is limited, making the Annual General Fund Drive in July its one and only source of revenue.  Whatever you can donate is cheerfully appreciated!

Please make your check payable to Kingfisher Sangha and bring it to the picnic or mail it to Dorothy Vieira, 1267 Garner Avenue, Schenectady 12309.  You can also donate through Pay Pal by:

  • Clicking on “send” money.
  • Typing “kingfishersanghany@gmail.com” or “Kingfisher Sangha” into the search bar. Click on the name when it comes up.
  • Enter the dollar amount.
  • Choose “Send to a Friend” option.
  • Click “Send.”

DIRECTIONS TO THE PAVILION: PDF Map. Look for the Ferndell Pavilion in the center of the map(Super hot tip! You can avoid the $10 entrance fee to the park if you park over by the Victoria Pool or Gideon Putnam Hotel and walk from there.)

For the Potluck Picnic, PLEASE RSVP BY JULY 6 TO DOROTHY at dorovie@aol.com.  Provide the number of people attending and the vegetarian dish you’d like to bring.
