December 18 from 10:00 – 11:30 am
Via Zoom
Come read a book together! All are invited to the Kingfisher Book Group. Learn about the practice and share with others in the sangha. As we blend our insights, our understanding grows. As we share build and strengthen our connections. The Book Group meets on Zoom on the third Wednesday of the month, at 10am! Check the newsletter for the Zoom link.
We began reading Unshakeable by Jo-ann Rosen in November. For the December meeting, please read Chapters 3 and 4.
About the book: A holistic system for gaining and maintaining the stability of mind needed for personal and social transformation, even in the midst of trauma—with simple, body-based exercises grounded in neuroscience and mindfulness, inspired by Thich Nhat Hanh. Time and time again, even in places where trauma is commonplace, Rosen has seen that a regulated nervous system allows an individual to move from overwhelm and despair to stability and engagement. The Plum Village approach to well-being cultivates resilience while recognizing the unique social and ecological challenges of our times.
The sangha has funds to help you purchase the book if you need them. Please contact Starr for information.
